On 08/29/06 around 2200hrs. an oil spill was discovered in the Citronelle Oil Field associated with wellhead #A24-8. A 2" flow line leading to the tank battery ruptured allowing approximately 70 bbls. of crude oil to enter an adjacent unnamed tributary.
On 08/30/06 NRC#809681 was reported by the responsible party. Region 4 Duty Officer notified and dispatched OSC Ullock to the scene.
Upon arrival at 10:30 hrs., (08/30/06)at the Denbury Onshore, LLC. Field Office located in Citronelle, Alabama, OSC Ullock met with the Denbury Field Supervisor and was briefed on the location, quantity, and current ongoing recovery activities.
OSC Ullock and Denbury Representative then travelled to spill scene and conducted spill walkthrough. OSC Ullock issued LOFI and suggested RP acquire additional clean up contractor resources which RP concurred with.
