The foam is intended to absorb impacts and protect the steel, which in turn keeps the tunnel accessible. Crews using a hydraulic jack to apply a 50,000 psi load to test the quality of the bolt installation. Commonly referred to as a Installation of the protective cover beneath the stope at 22+00.
