May 23 through May 25, no site activities were conducted and site security monitored the site.
Tuesday, May 26, 2009, soil excavation and hauling activities are completed on approximately 80% of WMP area. Installation of demarcation layer begins in locations where 1 foot of soil has been removed and backfilling with clean fill begins.
Wednesday, May 27 and 28, 2009, no site activities were conducted due to rain.
Friday, May 29, 2009, demarcation installation and backfilling activities resume.
Saturday, May 30, 2009, demarcation installation and backfilling activities continue.
During Week 1 of the reporting period, 5,664 tons of contaminated soils were transported to the disposal facility.
Sunday, May 31, 2009, no site activities conducted and site security monitored the site.
Monday, June 1, 2009, demarcation installation and backfilling activities resumed in the morning and site activities stopped after the morning due to rain.
Tuesday, June 2, 2009, demarcation and backfilling activities finished along areas within WMP that has been graded. Soil excavation resumes in small section in northwest corner of WMP and soil is piled for removal. Crew taking steps to minimize soil trackout by backfill trucks by laying woodchips along truck path.
Wednesday, June 3, 2009, soil excavation activities continue along remaining 20% of WMP and hauling activities resume. Shoreline sloping, demarcation, and backfilling activities begin.
Thursday, June 4, 2009, Soil removal, backfilling, and shoreline activities continue. Installation of turf matting and rock toe and application of hydroseed begins along shoreline.
During Week 2 of the reporting period, 4,444 tons of contaminated soils have been transported to the disposal facility.
Security continues to keep trespassers from entering the park during non-working hours.
