From August 17 to August 21, U.S. EPA completed the shipment of the tranformer oil and the rack removal and packaging of the PCB capacitors.
U.S. EPA also continued the site-wide location and consolidation of all hazardous materials/containers. These materials will be hazcatted so that they can be segregated for eventual lab-packing and disposal.
To date, U.S. EPA has shipped for incineration 1,804 of the 3,744 capacitors to Veolia Environmental Services, 7769 Highway 73, Port Arthur, Texas 77640.
Additionally, U.S. EPA has shipped 22,741 gallons of PCB oil, for incineration, to the Clean Harbors Dear Park facility, 2027 Independence Parkway South, La Porte, Texas 77571 and 17,042 gallons of PCB oil for incineration to Violia Environmental Services, 7769 Highway 73, Port Arthur, Texas 77640.
