Continued rainfall throughout metro Atlana led to widespread flooding and reports of potential oil and hazardoius materials spills. OSC Nattis mobilized with ERRS contractor ER and START consultants tTEMI to Peachtree Creek where an alleged used oil tank had been observed.
Reporting period - 0700hr 21SEPT2009 to 0700 24SEPT2009
OSC Nattis directed ER to recover the tank along with several miscellaneous drums that had been caught by a brush snare.
OSC Nattis intends to return the containers to respective owners if they can be discovered, or provide for appropriate treatment and disposal if no owner can be determined
As more containers were discovered than originally reported, and numerous flood-related reports are being received, this response will morph into a greater flood response.
