Planned Removal Actions

-Continue operation of the treatment system for another 6 month period and re-evaluate in August.  This will complete a full year of product recovery over a full season of groundwater fluctuations.
- IDEQ will install passive skimmers in DEQ-5, -6, and -7.  And conduct two weeks of monitoring.

Next Steps

-IDEQ to install passive skimmers and monitor  groundwater and oil level measurements.
-Transportation and Disposal of recovered product as needed.
-EPA will re-evaluate the need to operate the system after 6-months - August timeframe.

Key Issues

-Northern Idaho experiencing drought-like conditions - Spring 2004.
-IDEQ purchased treatment system and will provide collection services under an amended pollution removal funding authorization (PRFA).  Funding budgets have changed to incorporate increase in PRFA funding.  PRFA-IDEQ budget increased from $8,000 to $20,000 (increase of $12,000).  EPA budget decreased from $42,000 to $30,000 (decrease of $12,000)
