2.1.2 Response Actions to Date
From November 29 until December 4, 2010
- WSP completed 12 washes (two rinses) of Tank 51 out of 18 washes (three rinses) total.
- WSP took a rinsate sample after the second rinse of Tank 51 for PCB analysis and sample results are expected on December 6, 2010.
- WSP pumped stormwater out of the Tank 51 and Tank 43 and 44 secondary containments and hauled 6 loads (approximately 34,750 gallons) to Action Environmental in Fort Wayne, Indiana for disposal.
- Waste characterization results were received by WSP for stormwater from the secondary containment at Tanks 43 and 44 and forwarded to the disposal facility.
- WSP removed approximately 1,200 gallons of material from Tank 44. Material was transferred into a vacuum box using a vacuum truck.
- ERRS hauled 34 loads (195,716 gallons) of oily water to United Wastewater in Cincinnati, OH from frac tanks 7-10 and the west million-gallon bunker tank.
- ERRS pumped approximately 3 ft (18,600 gallons) of oily water from the primary separator pit to the west million-gallon bunker tank for storage.
- A leased hydraulic excavator and injector rake attachment were removed from the site and returned to the owner.
- ERRS completed the inventory of chemicals in the laboratory located on the southwest corner of the Administration Building. ERRS will begin labpacking activities on 12/8/2010.

U.S.EPA and START will be on site while WSP and AIMM continue to work on Tanks 51, 43, and 44.
ERRS will be on site periodically to continue managing the stormwater in the northeast and southwest areas.
A stormwater contingency plan will be posted next week which will include an estimate of the amount capacity created as a result of the berms and cap in addition to weather conditions that might cause a "release".
