The ERRS have been conducting site set up activities.  The decontamination reduction zone and decon rehab zone have been set up.  Two portable decontamination showers have been set up for use including water, power and discharge.  

The START has been conducting assessment planning activities including Air Surveillance Plan, Segregation Plan, instrument preparation and consoldiated health and safety plan.  START activities have been conducted with the assistance of the U.S. Coast Guard Pacific Strike team.

A community relations/press office has been set up on-site to provide the community with information on the site.  The Los Angeles Field Office Community Involment staff have interviewed residents to determine concerns and have provide fact sheets to the surrounding neighborhoods.

1.  Initiate enforcement action against the land owner and business owner
2.  Continue community relations program to inform neighborhood of removal activities
3.  Initiate air surveillance plan on July 28, 2004.
4.  Initiate segregation assessment of yard by the START and PST on July 29, 2004.

1.  Discussions with CADHS on the use of NRC Regulatory Guide 1.86 as cleanup action level.
2.  Approval of Action Memo with statutory exemption from Headquarters.
3.  Approval to discharge to the POTW from the City of Los Angeles.
4.  City of Los Angeles Local Enforcement Agency has prohibited the disposal of any solid waste from the site within the city limits.
5.  Demobilization of ERRS due to insufficient funding on July 30, 2004.  ERRS will remobilize after the Action Memo is fully funded.
