Air surveillance program initiated with the collection of high volume air samples for total radium and gross alpha/beta activity. Six sample locations set up.
Sampling of the ceiling inside the south building utilizing wipe samples counted for gross alpha/beta activity and real-time monitoring for alpha radiation indicated minimal removable contamination (below NUREG 1.86) and fixed contamination above NUREG 1.86 guidelines for fixed contamination. This structure will be decontaminated later in the project.
