- 1.5” of precipitation fell over the weekend.
- Midwest hauled off (3) 20 cyd roll-off boxes of solidified sludge to Southside Landfill in Indianapolis, IN.
- Midwest started cleaning the flocculent tank that was inside the chemical building.
- Midwest worked on housekeeping for the Site.
- Midwest continued to move water accumulating in the east bunker tank into the west bunker tank.
- EQ continued pumping Tank 51 liquid contents into solidification boxes and mixing it with paper pulp solidification media.

- EQ reported that there was 5’1” of product left in Tank 51 on 1/24/12.
- EQ stopped work before noon because they needed to work out contract issues with Trihydro.
- Trihydro helped demobilized the frac tank east of Tank 51 that was originally rented by WSP.
- Trihydro discharged approximately 10,000 gal of northeast area stormwater treated by the GAC system to Oil Creek.
On January 25, 2012, Midwest hauled off 4 loads (23,000 gal) of oily water from the primary separator, Tank 51 secondary containment, and MH-23 to United Waste Water Inc.’s facility in Cincinnati, OH.
- A trace of precipitation fell during the afternoon.
- Midwest continued cleaning frac tank 5.
- Midwest continued cleaning the flocculent tank.
- Midwest helped Trihydro backflush the GAC system.
- Midwest continued to move water accumulating in the east bunker tank into the west bunker tank.
- EQ returned to the Site after getting a verbal change order agreement from Trihydro.
- EQ continued pumping Tank 51 liquid contents into solidification boxes and mixing it with paper pulp solidification media.
- Trihydro discharged approximately 1,000 gal of northeast area stormwater treated by the GAC system to Oil Creek.
- AMI created a larger soil berm near the AMI-ESI berm area.
On January 26, 2012, Midwest hauled off 2 loads (12,000 gal) of oily water from the primary separator and Tank 51 secondary containment to United Waste Water Inc.’s facility in Cincinnati, OH.

- Trihydro discharged approximately 16,000 gal of northeast area stormwater treated by the GAC system to Oil Creek.
- OSC Simon and the PRP Group participated in a
conference call regarding the QMP (Quality Management Plan) and the remaining
material in the bunkered tanks.
On January 27, 2012, Midwest hauled off 5 loads (29,400 gal) of oily water from the primary separator, MH-23, and Tank 51 secondary containment to United Waste Water Inc.’s facility in Cincinnati, OH.
- 0.1” of rain fell overnight.
- Midwest continued cleaning frac tank 5.
- Midwest completed cleaning the flocculent tank.
- Midwest continued to move water accumulating in the east bunker tank into the west bunker tank.
- EQ continued pumping Tank 51 liquid contents into solidification boxes and mixing it with paper pulp and lime solidification media.
- EQ hauled off (4) 20 cyd roll-off boxes of solidified sludge to Southside Landfill in Indianapolis, IN.
- EQ received (3) 50,000 pound loads of wood pulp solidification media from Appleton Papers, Inc. in Dayton, OH.
- EQ reported that there was 3’3” of product left in Tank 51 on 1/27/12.
- EQ reported that the sludge is becoming more difficult to pump.
- Trihydro discharged 9,035 gal of northeast area stormwater treated by the GAC system to Oil Creek.
- Trihydro requested visual inspections of the flocculent tank and frac tank 5. No product was visible in the flocculent tank, and the condition was documented with photos. There was visible product in frac tank 5, and Midwest will continue to clean it.
The wood pulp and sawdust solidification materials are reclaimed/recycled products. As of January 27, 2012, approximately 14,100,000 pounds of wood pulp solidification media, 1,800 tons of sawdust solidification media have been used to solidify sludge.
