Current Activities

September 20, 2004:  1 OSC, 2 PST, 5 START, 9 ERRS;  ERRS continued to segregate out potentially clean materials to the low background survey area.  ERRS began to bulk solid waste debris for disposal.  All debris surveyed for gamma radiation prior to bulking into a roll-off-bin by PST.  The START continued to assess items for alpha and gamma residual radiation. The START continued the air surviellance program.  The PST continued to track costs via RCMS, conduct decontamination, medical monitoring of personnel and conduct the daily perimeter gamma survey.

RFP for T&D sent out to possible bidders.

Second group of lots cleared for free release.  Lot screening procedures set up by PST CHP and executed by OSC and START.  OSC approved free release of items.

Planned Removal Actions

Phase 2. North/South Yard Cleanout:
September 29, 2004:  Health physics support subcontractor will mobilizing to the site.  Phase 2 operations expected to continue until late November 2004.  Site operations will be suspended the week starting November 22, 2004 for the Thanksgiving holiday.
Phase 3. North Building Cleanout:  December 2004
Phase 4. North Building Structural Assessment:  February 2005
Phase 5. North/South Building Decon:  March 2005
Phase 6. Yard Area/Subsurface Assessment:  March 2005
Phase 7. Yard/Subsurface Remediation: April 2005
