During the reporting period, activities at 1145 Loflin Hill Road, Lot 6 included completion of excavation, excluding the area underneath the stockpile. To date, 50 trucks of contaminated soil have been loaded out.
Heavy rains caused work to stop early on 12/9 and completely on 12/10 and 12/11.

The Removal Action at the 7* affected residences will involve a combination of excavation and capping with a barrier of clean soil of up to 2 feet and restoration. Residents will be relocated while activities are conducted at their residence.
*Results of the August 2004 sampling event identified two more properties will arsenic levels above the Removal Action Level of 40 ppm.

The stockpile at Lot 6 will be loaded out so that backfill can be brought in and landscaping restoration complete. Residents are expected to end temporary relocation on December 17, 2004.
The bank at the front of 1234 Loflin Hill Road will be hydro-seeded; the back of the property will be reseeded and retilled. A small area at 1241 Loflin Hill Road will also be reseeded and retilled. (This was not completed during the reporting period due to heavy rains)

Lot 6, as well as 3 of the 4 remaining properties, is in a trailer park with gravel roads; hauling dirt during rain can easily damage these roads and running trucks on Saturday can be a safety issue for other residents home from school and work. These issues may cause delays in work.
Rain and cold weather make it hard for the grass on the restored properties to grow; this will be a problem for all properties throughout the removal.
1145 Loflin Hill Road, Lot 6 must be completed by December 17, 2004 so that residents will be back in their home by the week of Christmas.
