Personnel mobilized to Site on January 3 after a two week break due to the holidays.
During the reporting period, activities at 1265 Loflin Hill Road included locating utilities by hand, digging around the base of the home and excavation began on the side of the yard. Residents began temporary relocation on January 5, 2005.
Activities at 1241 Loflin Hill Road included placement of subsurface drain tile to join two downspouts to route rainwater into a gully. A private landscaping company reseeded areas of the yard that were disturbed to place the drain tile.

The Removal Action at the 7* affected residences will involve a combination of excavation and capping with a barrier of clean soil of up to 2 feet and restoration. Residents will be relocated while activities are conducted at their residence.
*Results of the August 2004 sampling event identified two more properties will arsenic levels above the Removal Action Level of 40 ppm.

Excavation will continue at 1265 Loflin Hill Road, followed by backfill and seeding.
Due to weather conditions, some of the most recent areas seeded may have to be re-evaluated.
The three remaining residences are being prioritized to determine the order in which they will be addressed.

ERRS broke a cable line at 1265 Loflin Hill Road on January 7, 2005; the cable company will repair the line once excavation and backfill is complete.
Rain and cold weather make it hard for the grass on the restored properties to grow; this will be a problem for all properties throughout the removal.
