In February of 2005, a meth lab was discovered on a property in Smyrna, Georgia. Due to the size and magnitude of this meth lab, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) was contacted by officials from Cobb County government about performing an environmental investigation on the soils of the yard of that property.
On March 16th, OSC Adams, OSC Jones, and START conducted soil sampling of this property. This sampling and analysis was conducted to determine if there is an imminent threat to human health and/or the environment.
Review data from sampling event to determine if there is an imminent threat to human health and/or the environment. Results should be available within 4 to 6 weeks from the date of this sampling event. Future activities will be determined based on the results.
