Work continues on Removal Assessment activities:
* Elkton Farms removal assessment team established. This team includes reps from Remedial, MDE, Federal Facilities, Regional Counsel, Enforcement, Community Involvement Coordinator and START contractor UXO personnel. Team has convened via conference call numerous times and met both on site and in regional office since end of January 05. FOSC utilizing this support to assist with potential DOD involvement, responsible party identification and site access issues.
* START, at the direction of FOSC, has drafted a site HASP. HASP forwarded to FOSC on 3/17/05. FOSC has asked EPA-ERT to comment on document.START to work up cost estimate for uxo excavation activities.
* START completed the posting of Warning Signs at site on 03/10/05. Warning signs depict Superfund site and warn against trespasssers. Sign provides phone number of FOSC. Thus far, two queries have been received for additional info. Both calls were forwarded to CIC for followup.
* Regional counsel and fed fac continue to work on DOD involvement and the potential for full DOD lead on this action.
* FOSC drafting Action Memo for site funding purposes.
