Current Activities

January 2015- March 2015

• Completed quarterly operation, maintenance, and monitoring (OMM).
• MPE System decommissioning continued on site.  
• CRA revised the OMM plan with detailed monitoring of gas pressure and methane.  


April 2015- June 2015

• CRA is now known as GHD for all future activities.
• Completed scheduled OMM.
• Completed the MPE system decommissioning.
• Resubmittal of the MDEQ form EQP 5150 regarding the change to Liquid Industrial Waste (LIW) Generator in the MDEQ Waste Data System.  
• Conducted methane monitoring rounds on June 10 and June 12, 2015 due to elevated methane readings.  
• Fitted the sentry wells with ex-caps for future methane monitoring.
• Conference call with EPA and GHD to address methane levels.

July 2015- August 2015

• Completed scheduled OMM.
•  Installed wind turbines at 12 passive vent locations to address elevated methane levels.
• GHD revised the OMM plan with detailed monitoring of gas pressure and methane.


Planned Removal Actions

None.


Next Steps

Continuation of operation and maintenance for the next several years including methane monitoring.

Collect methane readings in September 2015 to evaluate the effects of the recently installed wind turbines.


Key Issues

Methane vapor has been detected greater than 1.25% below the cover system.
