Site Description

The dirt lot has been capped and the temporary fence has been removed.  The final decontamination  and MARSSIM survey of the floor in 5543 Riverton Ave. have been completed.  


Current Activities

A subcontractor to ERRS has repaired the sidewalk.  All activities outside the building have been completed.  From June 28 - July 11, 2005 ERRS completed the removal of contamination from the floor using a small demolition hammer.
The last drum of mixed waste was removed from the site on July 11, 2005.

The START has completed the MARSSIM FSS on the 5543 Riverton Ave. structure.  The data will be provided to the California Department of Health Services Radiologic Health Branch and the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services Radiation Management Division for their review.

1.  Release of the building to the RP pending the review of the data by the State and County radiation agencies against the requirements of the outstanding Order prohibiting occupancy of the building.
