Current Activities

**** Wednesday, May 18, 2005. (ERRS subcontractor DAL-1)DAL measured product levels inside of the 1,000 gallon storage tank, collected totalizer readings from the groundwater treatment system, measured groundwater and product levels, and cleaned the product pumps.  Groundwater levels very high. Amount of oil recovered since the groundwater pumps were installed - 1031 gallons.  Total oil recovered for the site is 1231 gallons.

**** START HERE Thursday May 19, 2005 (DAL-1, ERRS- 1) ERRS and DAL changed out two of the carbon filters and installed a pre-filter (50 micron bag filter).  Replaced door and tar paper.

**** Saturday, May 21, 2005. (DAL-1)  DAL replaced the 50 micron bag filter because it was clogged.

**** Sunday, May 22, 2005. (DAL-1) DAL replaced the 50 micron bag filter with a 100 micron filter.

**** Wednesday, May 25, 2005. (DAL-1)  DAL measured product levels inside of the 1,000 gallon storage tank and collected totalizer readings from the groundwater treatment system.  Amount of oil recovered since the groundwater pumps were installed - 1031 gallons.  Total oil recovered for the site is 1231 gallons.  DAL measured groundwater and product levels in the wells and offloaded a shipment of biocide.

**** Friday, May 27, 2005. (DAL-1) DAL offloaded two new carbon units.

**** Tuesday, May 31, 2005 (DAL-1) DAL installed two new carbon units, and treated the extraction wells with biocide to remove algae.

****Wednesday, June 1, 2005 (DAL-1) DAL measured product levels inside of the 1,000 gallon storage tank, collected totalizer readings from the groundwater treatment system, and collected oil and groundwater depth readings in all on- and off-site wells. Amout of oil recovered since the groundwater pumps were installed - 1031 gallons.  Total oil recovered for the site is 1231 gallons.  DAL collected water quality samples and submitted them to a commercial laboratory.

**** Thursday, June 9, 2005  (DAL-1) DAL responded to an alarm due to power surge.  Electrical storms in the area causing power outages and power surges.  Pumps in extraction well #15 were impacted.  System back on line.

**** Tuesday, June 14, 2005  (DAL-1) DAL measured product levels inside of the 1,000 gallon storage tank and collected totalizer readings from the groundwater treatment system.  Amout of oil recovered since the groundwater pumps were installed - 1031 gallons.  Total oil recovered for the site is 1231 gallons.  DAL treated the extraction wells with biocide to remove algae.  Groundwater is still very high.

**** Wednesday, June 15, 2005  (DAL-1) DAL collected water quality samples and submitted them to a commercial laboratory.  DAL also checked the extraction wells for product.

**** Friday, June 17, 2005  (DAL-1) DAL treated the extraction wells with biocide to remove algae.

**** Saturday, June 18, 2005  (DAL-1) DAL on site with electrician to fix the power box after the electrical storms.  System back in operation.

**** Tuesday, June 21, 2005  (DAL-1) DAL treated the extraction wells with biocide to remove algae.

**** Thursday, June 23, 2005  (DAL-1) DAL indicated that they had another major electrical storm that shut down pumps in MW-10.  DAL by-passed  carbon filter number one due to high pressure.

**** Friday, June 24, 2005  (DAL-1) DAL back flushed carbon filters number 1 and 2 due to being plugged up.  Pumps in MW-10 still not operational.

**** Wednesday, July 13, 2005 (DAL-2, ERRS-1) DAL and ERRS conducted groundwater and product levels in all wells including the three extraction wells.  New replacement pumps were installed and the system was restarted.  DAL measured product levels inside of the 1,000 gallon storage tank.  Amout of oil recovered since the groundwater pumps were installed - 1031 gallons.  Total oil recovered for the site is 1231 gallons.

**** Thursday, July 21, 2005 (DAL-1) DAL conducted groundwater and product levels in all wells including the three extraction wells.  New replacement carbon units were installed, biocide was added, and the system was restarted.  DAL measured product levels inside of the 1,000 gallon storage tank.  Amout of oil recovered since the groundwater pumps were installed - 1031 gallons.  Total oil recovered for the site is 1231 gallons.

Planned Removal Actions

- Monitor effluent levels and change out Carbon Units as appropriate.
- Continue to control constant algae buildup using EPA approved biocide
- Pump out 1,000 gallon AST as needed.
- Operate groundwater depression and oil recovery systems.

Next Steps

***** Continue to collect water quality samples of the effluent.
***** Continue operation and maintenance plan for the product and groundwater systems.
***** Replace Carbon Units per water quality sample results.

Key Issues

*****System shut down on July 1, 2005 due to pump failures in all three wells.  All product pumps were sent back to manufacturer for diagnosis.  Results indicated pumps not operational and new parts were installed and pumps sent back to site on July 13th.
*****No new product collected.
