Radioactive debris and waste is staged in roll-off boxes and within the building in preparation for off-site disposal of the material. Waste profiles have been submitted and additional roll-off boxes are on the way.
Perimeter air monitoring is continuing and has documented the success of the engineering controls used to eliminate off-site migration. The 'frisking' of crew members has shown the need for the personal protective equipment as some radioactive contamination has been found on suits, gloves, and masks.
|
The crews will continue to prepare the debris and other items for transportation and disposal. The roll-off boxes will loaded and transported to a rail line and be shipped to the disposal facility in Utah.
