Current Activities

On November 23, 2005 the USACE finalized negotiations with the prime contractor, INFOPRO Inc., Huntsville, Al.  The Price Negotiation Memorandum (PNM) was completed on November 23, 2005.  The type of contract negotiated was for an indefinite, cost reimbursable deliverable.  The delivery order is to be broken down into eight specific tasks with negotiated pricing per task.  The tasks are as follows: 1.) Site Security; 2.) Work Plan development; 3.)Mobilization/Field Work; 4.)Burn Pit; 5.)Sampling and Analysis; 6.)Final Report; 7.)Project Management; 8.)Site Restoration.  

On November 15, 2005, the FOSC received a draft Sampling and Analysis Plan (SAP) from START contractor TTEMI.  The FOSC forwarded a copy onto MDE for their comment.  FOSC to compile MDE comments with his comments and return to START for finalization.


Planned Removal Actions

FOSC anticipates receipt of draft work plans including site HASP prior to holidays.  FOSC anticipates a site management kickoff meeting to occur shortly after the holidays with site mobilization to occur simultaneously.


Next Steps

FOSC to coordinate with MDE and the site Community Involvement Coordinator (CIC) to develop coherent strategy for involvement of the Elkton community going forward.
