On 5/11/06, a tanker truck operated by Palm Dale Oil overturned at Griffin Road (Under I-95) in Dania Beach, Florida. Over 1000 gallons of unleaded gasoline was released into the environment. An unknown amount of product has entered the storm drain system and appears to be flowing towards a nearby canal. FDEP/BER personnel are on site and have hired a cleanup contractor to "hot-tap" the rolled over tanker and remove the remaining product. OSC David Dorian has been dispatched to the site to provide assistance and contractor support as needed.
FDEP/BER staff are on-site and have hired a contractor to remove the remaining product. OSC Dorian is enroute and will be on-site before 2100 on 5/11/06. USCG has responded due to product having entered the storm drain system and the possibility that the product will flow into their AOR.
Remove remaining product. Ensure product is recovered.
Product removal and recovery. Coordination with State, other Federal partners, and the PRP.

* The above accounting of expenditures is an estimate based on figures known to the OSC at the time this report was written. The OSC does not necessarily receive specific figures on final payments made to any contractor(s). Other financial data which the OSC must rely upon may not be entirely up-to-date. The cost accounting provided in this report does not necessarily represent an exact monetary figure which the government may include in any claim for cost recovery.
