Airport): A tanker trailer hauling Jet-A(Mil JP-4)experienced brake failure and overturned while negotiating a northbound turn onto Fulton Ind. Blvd. at the bottom of the off-ramp of I-20W.  The tanker released an estimated at 7,500 gallons to the street surface, side culverts, and nearby storm drain(s). Current Activities

1-) East and Westbound Interstate 20 was closed from the time of the initial response until about 10:30 a.m. on 31JUL2006. North/Southbound traffic on Fulton Industrial Blvd. will remain detoured in the vicinity of the accident until response activities are concluded. 2-) Recovery of product from storm-drain network.

Planned Removal Actions

RP contractors and other supporting response teams will continue to attempt to recover product and maintain a safe response environment.

Next Steps

Assess possible impact on the Chattahoochee River.

Key Issues

Accessing the network of storm-drains to recover product and mittigating fire/explosion risk.
