Mr. Hofenbredl has volunteered to promptly perform the removal action with the assistance of a qualified consultant. Mr. Hofenbredl has selected Mr. Tim O'Gara, a Geologist/Hydrogeologist, to work with him on the removal operations.
There appears to be no more product seeping into the river as the sorbent pads no longer are catching any fuel. About once a week, EQM has pumped product from 3 wells. Laboratory analysis shows the fuels match between the samples collected in the trench dug next to the fuel pump shed and from fuel seeping into the river.
While Mr. Hofenbredl's business insurance will not cover any of the removal operation, his insurance agent is looking into what, if any, coverage he may have through his homeowner insurance.

|
Mr. Hofenbredl and Mr. O'Gara will present to the OSC a proposal with options and work plan for EPA's review in the next week. Data collected from the soil core samples by E&E will be supplied to Mr. O'Gara to help in developing some proposals. EPA will confer with Oregon's Department of Environmental Quality, Oregon Health Department, and Northwest Natural Gas before selecting an option. Based on what is agreed between the PRP and EPA, an Administrative Order for Removal Activities will be drafted.
Mr. Hofenbredl will send one of his employees to a 40-hour HAZWOPER course being offered in Portland next week.
