Current Activities

Week of September 11
Alpine finished the clean-up of the crawl space and performed clearance testing.  Alpine also performed the second clearance test in the SW quadrant (former storage space).

During this week, Alpine also prepared the NW quadrant (wedding planner) for abatement and began to perform clean-up activities there.

Week of September 18
Clearance results were obtained for the crawl space and the SW quadrant, indicating that both work spaces passed clearance.  After receiving the results of clearance testing, Alpine began to break down the negative pressure enclosures in the SW quadrant and the crawl space.  Alpine also continued to clean the NW quadrant (wedding planner).

Week of September 25
Alpine completed the cleaning of the NW quadrant (wedding planner) and performed clearance testing.  Alpine then prepared the work space for the NE quadrant (custom car shop) and began to abate it.

Week of October 2
Alpine completed the cleaning of the NE quadrant (custom car shop) and performed clearance testing.

Week of October 9
Alpine then prepared the work space for the SE quadrant (delivery service).

Alpine began excavation of soils adjacent and along north and south sides of building.

Week of October 16
Alpine continued preparing the work space for the SE quadrant (delivery service) and began to abate it.

START-3 collected soil samples from excavated soils for waste characterization.

Next Steps

- Alpine will finish abating the SE quadrant (delivery service), and clearance samples will be collected.

- Alpine will complete the removal of vermiculite-containing soils around the perimeter of the building.
