Current Activities

During the week of January 8-12, 2007, USEPA ERRS contractors completed the demobilization of the USEPA on-site waste water treatment plant (WWTP).

During the week of January 22-26, 2007, USEPA BOA contractors completed the removal of absorbent booms from the off-site Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) storm sewer system and slick-bar booms from the Maumee river outfall under I-280.

On April 13, 2007, RP contractors completed the process of welding the geo-textile liner within the northern perimeter.

According to the RP consultants, the geo-textile ‘Boot’ was removed from the Enbridge pipeline in the southeast portion of Delta Fuels the week of May 8, 2007.  A representative from Enbridge Pipeline was in attendance to confirm proper operating procedures for the exposure, removal and compaction of clay around the pipeline in the southeast perimeter.

On May 10, 2007, RP contractors addressed 'slumping' of the geo-textile liner in the northwest perimeter corner by re-exposing the liner to down to 6 feet below ground surface (BGS) and compacted clay to act as an impermeable containment system, according to the RP and their consultants, no additional liner pieces were welded to the existing liner.

Planned Removal Actions

RP contractors will continue to modify topography for a future below grade drainage system.  RP consultants will apply for a NPDES permit and a new 20,000 gallon oil-water separator will be installed.

Confirmation of these additional work activities were required to be documented in the Final Site Report (which was due 4 to 6 weeks after completion of the liner system).

Next Steps

RP needs to submit Final Reports, maps documenting location of the liner system and bermed areas, laboratory results from excavations and field activities, and progress reports.

Key Issues

Awaiting Final Reports, maps documenting location of liner system and bermed areas, laboratory and analytical results from excavation and field activities, and progress reports from RP.
