Much of the exterior ground surface is a soil/gravel mix with some broken-up concrete and asphalt. Some areas are covered with small metal and glass debris.
The Site is part of an industrial/commercial enclave in the middle of a primarily residential neighborhood. The Site is bounded to the north, west, and east by residential properties, and to the south by industrial/commercial buildings and additional residential properties.

Post-excavation sampling was conducted and EPA collected split samples with the RP’s contractor. Analysis of the samples indicated that the lead concentrations were reduced and that the goals set in the Administrative Order were achieved. The chromium results indicated that elevated levels remained on-site and that additional investigation was necessary to delineate the extent of this contamination. To date the chromium sampling has not occurred.
|
The contractor will delineate the extent of the chromium hot spot and excavate, treat, and dispose of the impacted soils.
|
The contractor will collect soil samples and analyze them for chromium. EPA will be on-site to oversee the work and collect split samples. The sampling event is scheduled for June 2006.
