Current Activities

The design of a source removal system has been finalized and presented to residents and county officials.  The system will consist of three pumping wells, 6 reinjection wells, and a treatment building containing an air stripper and carbon polishing.  The concrete work, trench work, and building is constructed.

Next Steps

Install equipment for the source removal system.  Begin and complete start-up procedures.  Continue to monitor CCl4 plume.

Key Issues

Other Information

Public support remains good.

Further investigation of the "source" property revealed several small containers of fire extinguisher fluid (pyrene carbon tetrachloride) and an old carbon tetrachloride fire extinguisher.  No other potential "sources" were found above-ground.

Soil samples from the "source area" property contained negligible amounts of solvents.
