On 01/07/08, Denbury Onshore LLC reported a 40-50 bbl crude oil release originating from a 2" flowline which was reportedly ruptured by a fallen tree. The ruptured flowline is located immediately adjacent to an unnamed tributary located within a dense, forested bottom-land. The length of the spill is approximately 6/10th's of a mile long and is primarily contained within the tributary. Oil is currently bank to bank along the 3-5' wide tributary. This tributary flows into Clear Creek which eventually reaches the Scenic Escatawpa River.
The RP(Denbury) procured 2 oil field contractors responding with personnel, boom and vac trucks. They also procured the services of a spill management team (ES&H)to provide technical assistance and contractor oversight.

OSC Ullock continues to support the ADEM Mobile-ER, State OSC as they continue to provide technical assistance and long term remediation oversight involving the DENBURY D-912 Oil Spill in Citronelle, AL. Difficult access and dense vegetation hampered and prolonged recovery efforts. At this time, the clean up of free standing oil and vegetation and debris from the creek is complete.
On 01/17/08, OSC Ullock and START met the ADEM-MOBILE ER, State OSC and representatives of DENBURY ONSHORE, LLC for the purpose of conducting a walkthrough of the impacted spill area. The ADEM and US EPA approved of the clean up efforts and consider the spill clean up to be effectively completed.

Long term remediation activities, including the maintanance of the passive hay berm at low end of the spill and the continued, swapping out of oil sorbent boom(s) will continue for the next several months. These activities will be accomplished under the direction and periodic supervision of the ADEM.
