On February 11o, 2008, the cleanup in the creek was completed. Greka is currently conducting restoration activities on the private property affected by the spill and in the creek.
During the week of February 11, 2008, Greka under the supervision of DFG and PST performed quantification of oil sampling in the roll-off-bins. Greka also met with the impacted landowners to discuss restoration of the impacted property.
1. Sampling of the unnamed tributary by Greka's consultant. 2. Disposal of all contaminated soils off-site. 3. Discharge of all produce water and sparge water generated during the cleanup to the injection wells at such time that Greka is allowed to turn on their injection wells. This is subject to Greka completing the removal to EPA and DFG's satisfaction and meeting of Santa Barbara County's requirements. Only SBCo. Fire Department can remove the stop work order to allow resumption of injection activities. 4. Restoration of all private property damaged by the spill or response operations by Greka.
EPA is currently awaiting an updated confirmation sampling plan from Greka's consultant, LFR.
As of February 18, 2008, DFG is estimating the total spill amount including produce water to be 194,172 gallons. The amount of oil spilled was approximately 50,400 gallons.
