Site Description

See POLREP #2 for site description.

Current Activities

The following activities were completed on Site during the week of March 3, 2008:
-  ERRS continued to consolidated the ash piles and the excavated soil in the northeastern part of the Site;
-  At the end of each work shift ERRS covered the consolidated ash piles with 6 millimeter thick plastic sheeting;
-  Approximately 460 cubic yards of clean fill was delivered to the site for back filling.
-  DustTrakĀ® particulate air monitors continued to be utilized to insure that ash was not causing a health and safety risk;
-  The analytical results showed the treatment of the ash and soil reduced the lead Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure (TCLP) from 135 mg/L to an average of 17 mg/L;
-  ERRS mixed an additional 20 tons of SulfiTech A/T with the ash and contaminated soil;
-  During the mixing process the ash piles were periodically sprayed with water in order to reduce the potential for dust to become airborne;
-  Composite samples (10 grab per every 200 cubic yards of soil) were collected and submitted for laboratory analysis to insure proper characterization prior to disposal.
- START was on Site documenting Site activities.

Next Steps

The following activities will be completed:
-  Once the analytical results are back, the treated ash and soil will be disposed at a local landfill;
-  START will continue to collect confirmatory samples;
-  ERRS will continue to backfill excavated areas;
-  START will continue to document Site activities.
