05/08/08 START attended the morning safety meeting held by MHF who is contracting for Intermet, SPX Contech, and Product Technology. MHF continues to change lids and pallets on the various generators magnesium drums. MHF is staging pallets in building #7
EPA OSC Jack Downie was on site for oversight of activities.
Emergency and Rapid Response Services (ERRS) contractor Guardian Environmental, Inc held its morning safety meeting and discussed the days planned activities, areas of concern / safety issues associated with the day’s activities. ERRS is moving the remainder of the drums in Building #9 and sampling unidentified drums for waste profiling. ERRS is cleaning the areas where they are removing the drums from and segregating reactive materials that can be deactivated in the reaction pit.
START assisted as needed and conducted written/photographic documentation.
05/09/08 START attended the morning safety meeting held by MHF who is contracting for Intermet, SPX Contech, and Product Technology. MHF has 2 truckloads of Intermet material staged and ready for transport off site in Building #7.
EPA OSC Jack Downie was on site for oversight of activities. OSC Downie demobilized.
