EPA’s ERRS is shipping the non hazardous bulk material derived from reacting pyroforic wastes off site.  PADEP is providing technical and oversight support at the site.  EPA START contractor TechLaw is providing technical and administrative support to the EPA. EPA and PADEP officials continue to control access to the site in addition to coordinating the activities of the various generators.

Emergency and Rapid Response Services (ERRS) contractor Guardian Environmental, Inc held its morning safety meeting and discussed the days planned activities. ERRS suspended shipping of bulk debris piles for the present but will resume shipping the week of 6/9/08.  ERRS continued repackaging material found in various buildings on site to make the material DOT shippable.  The material from a drum that caught on fire while being repackaged was spread out in a isolated area on the scale pad to allow it to continue to react.  The material did spark at times but no significant fires ensued. The Security Guard Service was tasked to monitor the burning/smouldering pile with the security cameras mounted south of Building #9 during the after hours. No further incidents occured.

START assisted as needed and conducted written/photographic documentation.
