Site Description

The western Upper Bell Pond has been removed except for the eastern concrete wall.  This wall was left intact to provide structural stability to the eastern pond.

Current Activities

ERRS backfilled the hole left by the excavation of the western Upper Bell Pond.  At the toe of the eastern wall of the pond, an infiltration trench consisting of -1.5 gravel and topped with bentonite was installed.  The infiltration trench is designed to prevent migration of contamination beneath the remaining wall structure and the eastern pond.

Next Steps

The creek will need to be hydro-seeded.  The hydroseeding will take place in the fall.  EPA will be directing Greka to perform this task.

Disposition of Wastes

9,16 cubic yards of Non-RCRA Hazardous Waste (Soil contaminated with oil) was sent to Chemical Waste Management, Inc. for disposal.
