Site Description

EPA is continuing emergency removal actions at this site during the repackaging, transportation, and removal of flammable magnesium materials.  Lavigne Manufacturing, Inc. is making plans to remove its material off site. EPA continues to plan and implement repackaging of magnesium materials to make it more stable and accessible for the remainder of the generators who wish to remove their material.      

The ERRS contractor is repackaging the remainder of drums on site. PADEP is providing technical and oversight support at the site. The EPA START contractor TechLaw is providing technical and administrative support to the EPA. EPA and PADEP officials continue to control access to the site in addition to coordinating the activities of the various generators.

Emergency and Rapid Response Services (ERRS) contractor Guardian Environmental Services, Inc. held its morning safety meeting and discussed the days planned activities. ERRS repackaged 88 drums and staged them in Building #2. A total of 1,705 drums have been repackaged and staged in Building #2. ERRS conducted maintenance and house-keeping activities on site as required.

START provided technical assistance, contractor oversight, written and photographic documentation during field activities.

ERRS repackaged approximately 90 drums and staged them in Building #2. ERRS conducted maintenance and house-keeping activities on site as required.

START provided contractor oversight, written/photographic documentation and technical assistance during ongoing activities.
