10/28/08 Emergency and Rapid Response Services (ERRS) contractor Guardian Environmental Services, Inc. held its morning safety meeting and discussed the days planned activities. ERRS prepared and shipped 88 of the miscellaneous waste drums that were staged in building nine. The drums were hauled to Vextor Technology Inc. located in Medina, Ohio. They were transported by Freehold Cartage Inc. Representatives of TGA Inc. were on site to inspect and prepare the remaining 22 low level radiation drums for offsite disposal. START mobilized to the site and provided the OSC with technical and administrative assistance, conducted contractor monitoring, drum inspection, disposal tracking and written and photographic documentation.
10/29/08 Emergency and Rapid Response Services (ERRS) contractor Guardian Environmental Services, Inc. held its morning safety meeting and discussed the days planned activities. ERRS prepared and shipped 51 drums and five buckets containing miscellaneous waste materials. The drums were sorted and hauled to two separate disposal facilities, Vextor Technology Inc. located in Medina, Ohio and Chemtron Corporation located in Avon, Ohio. They were transported by Freehold Cartage Inc. Representatives of TGA Inc. were on site continuing to inspect and prepare the remaining 22 low level radiation drums for offsite disposal. START mobilized to the site and provided the OSC with technical and administrative assistance, conducted contractor monitoring, drum inspection, disposal tracking and written and photographic documentation.
10/30/08 Emergency and Rapid Response Services (ERRS) contractor Guardian Environmental Services, Inc. held its morning safety meeting and discussed the days planned activities. ERRS prepared and shipped the remaining 52 drums containing miscellaneous waste materials. The drums were hauled to the Heritage WTI disposal facility, located in East Liverpool, Ohio. They were transported by Freehold Cartage Inc. These were the last of the miscellaneous waste drums remaining on site. Representatives of TGA Inc. were on site continuing to inspect and prepare the remaining 22 low level radiation drums for offsite disposal. ERRS banded the drums, placed them on skids, then loaded the skids onto the truck. The drums were shipped to US Ecology Inc. located in Grand View, Idaho. The transporter was SJ Transportation Company. All of the low level radiation drums have now been shipped off site for disposal. START mobilized to the site and provided the OSC with technical and administrative assistance, conducted contractor monitoring, drum inspection, disposal tracking and written and photographic documentation.
