Site Description
The Barker Chemical Company Site is located on approximately 300 acres lying north of the Withlacoochee River, south of County Road 40, west of U.S. Highway 19, which is considered the Garden Court Mall (GCM) area.  The remainder of the site, which was discovered during the 2005 sampling investigation, is located east of U.S. Hwy 19 and north of County Road 40, which is called the Former Inglis Road (FIR), east of Inglis city limits in Levy County, Florida.

Planned Removal Actions
Transfer all documentation, data and map to FDEP

Key Issues
38 remaining properties have arsenic below 40 ppm, EPA's removal action guidance and above FDEP's site specific cleanup guidance of 8 ppm.
6 Remaining properties which have asenic above EPA's cleanup level of 40 ppm on secure unoccupied residential properties to the north end of the site (FIR) - BCC 156, BCC 157, BCC 158, BCC 159, BCC 160, BCC 161


 
Disposition Of Wastes
13,488.5 tons of As & Pb Stabilized Soil to a Subtitle D (Omni Landfill in Holopaw, Florida) landfill - $508,632.55
