On 5/11/06, a tanker truck operated by Palm Dale Oil overturned at Griffin Road (Under I-95) in Dania Beach, Florida. Over 1000 gallons of unleaded gasoline was released into the environment. An unknown amount of product has entered the storm drain system and appears to be flowing towards a nearby canal. FDEP/BER personnel are on site and have hired a cleanup contractor to "hot-tap" the rolled over tanker and remove the remaining product. OSC David Dorian has been dispatched to the site to provide assistance and contractor support as needed.
FDEP/BER staff are on-site and have hired a contractor to remove the remaining product. OSC Dorian is enroute and will be on-site before 2100 on 5/11/06. USCG has responded due to product having entered the storm drain system and the possibility that the product will flow into their AOR.
