Emergency - Removal Assessment Pollution Report (POLREP) #2
Start Date: 3/27/2007
Site Description
For site description and preious actions, please refer to previous POLREPs.

Current Activities
The following actions took place during this reporting period:

USES continued material excavation through the evening of March 29 and during the day on March 30, 2007.  The waste was stockpiled and has been covered to prevent any material runoff as rain is expected in the area over the weekend.  In addition, all of the waste liquids collected have been stored in large poly tanks onsite.  USES also constructed a berm around the facility to contain any liquids that may migrate.

CTEH downgraded their air monitoring to the work zone and have sent the samples collected via the suma canisters to the lab for analysis.

Planned Removal Actions
The following actions are planned during the next reporting period:

USES will continue to clean up any pooled liquids and stockpile any waste materials.  They will downsize their crew over the weekend to monitor the site.

Next Steps
EPA will continue to monitor the Site and coordinate with the RP.  When the analysis is completed for the samples collected by CTEH, a detailed list of what was in the particulates will be available.

Key Issues
Anytime that it rains on the Site, runoff will be a concern.  Cleanup contractors have covered the material stockpile and placed a berm around the site to prevent the impact of this runoff.
