Current Activities
Drums and contaminated soils excavated from the site have been sent to a hazardous waste facility for disposal. A ground-penetrating radar survey will be conducted during the week of March 23 to determine sub-surface locations that may potentially contain additional buried drums.

Planned Removal Actions
Clearing of brush and trees to allow access to the area of soil excavation will be conducted in May 2009. Excavation of contaminated soils contained within the fenced area is scheduled to begin in May 2009. Additional sampling at the site is anticipated for April/May 2009.

Next Steps
Continue to coordinate removal activities with the Town of Monroe Public Health Dept and the CT DEP.
