Pollution Report (POLREP) #1
Site Description
8-10 transformers labeled with PCBs were uncovered during construction. One transformer was breached, releasing PCBs to the soil. OSC Randy Nattis dispatched. Site is approximately 800 feet from the Ocmulgee River.

Current Activities
OSC Nattis arrived on site at approximately 1545 and met with owner who unearthed the containers during site construction.  OSC Nattis identified the containers and verified the PCB labels and the condition of the containers.  At least two of the containers were breached and oils containing PCB materials were leaking into an unlined ditch.  OSC Nattis isolated the area and will return first thing 10/21/09 with an ERRS crew to over pack the transformers and oil contaminated soils.

Planned Removal Actions
OSC Nattis will work with GA EPD and EPA Removal for possible enforcement activities and assessment activities, respectively
