Site Description
On June 8, 2004, Owensboro Grain Co. (OG) reported an estimated 6,000 gallon release of crude soybean oil at their tank farm in Owensboro, KY (NRC Report No. 724374).  All material was contained within a grassy diked area, and no material was discharged to surface water.  OG hired a cleanup contractor to remediate the spill, and further direction on cleanup will be provided by the Kentucky Department for Environmental Protection (KYDEP).

Current Activities
The EPA OSC inspected the spill site on 6/10/04 with OG staff.  The inspection confirmed that all oil product was contained within the diked area, and removed.  Affected soils have been excavated, staged, and covered.
