Site Description
Please refer to Initial POLREP.

Current Activities
During this period, EPA, ERRS, and START worked on removing the wastes (through solidification) from the five underground storage tanks on site.  The solidified sludges have been sampled and the OSC is awaiting analytical results.

The underground and above ground storage tanks were decontaminated, removed, and made ready for salvage.  A local salvage company will be removing the scrap metal associated with the tanks.

The tank wash system has been demolished (metal portion).

Soil samples have been taken from beneath the underground storage tanks and the OSC is awaiting analytical results.

Planned Removal Actions
Remove the soils and sludges from the Site.

Demolish the tank washing pad.

Backfill the areas where soil or tanks have been removed.

Topsoil and seed the Site once excavation activities have been completed.

Next Steps
Review analytical results from the sludges generated on Site.

Review the results from the soil samples relevant to the tank removals.

Prepare final operations to conclude this removal action.

Key Issues
Analyzing sampling data to determine the extent of soil needing to be removed.

Working with ADEM and the public concerning the closure of this removal action.
