Current Activities
· START XRF field-screening and laboratory confirmation soil sampling soil at the base of the Mill Pond excavation (below the tailings and the high-cadmium organic silt sediments) confirmed that clean soil was reached during the ERRS excavation/removal the week of 9 November 03.  All but approximately two truckloads of the excavated material was transported offsite for disposal at a Subtitle C facility.  The remaining material was tested and failed TCLP; this material is planned for removal by ERRS in the spring 2004.

· On 2 December 2003 the RP excavated the DW beneath the cracked foundation of the mill building thickener room for Subtitle C disposal.  START XRF field-screening and laboratory confirmation soil sampling soil at the base of the excavation confirmed that clean soil was reached.
