The Littleton Fire Department put in a request for assistance to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on October 28, 2016, to handle chemical substances found in an abandoned residence in Littleton.

The fire department identified two chemicals as hydrofluoric acid and mercury, both contained in quart sized jars.
