On the morning of Sunday January 7, 2007, a freight train derailed and discharged the contents of the locomotive fuel tank into a ditch and the railroad ballast. Some of the diesel was contained in a ditch approximately 20 feet by 120 feet. ADEM is on scene. CSX hired Hepaco as the response contractor. Clean up commenced on Sunday afternoon. Severe storms impacted the operations. OSC Chris Russell was dispatched to oversee the RP's response.
