The site consists of a former drum reconditioner that went out of operation in the 1990's. An EPA fund lead removal action was conducted in 2000 to address the numerous drums left on the property by the former operator.

Recent changes in land use in the areas near the property prompted the Tennessee Department of Environment & Conservation (TDEC) to re-visit the site. TDEC sampling confirmed the presence of elevated heavy metals, primarily lead, in what is suspected to be ash residues from the former incinerator operations at the facility. TDEC has referred the site to EPA for a removal assessment.
