1.1.1 Incident Category - emergency

1.1.2 Site Description - detached single-family residence

1.1.2.1 Location - 7305 Turkey Point Drive, Titusville, FL 32780

1.1.2.2 Description of Threat - inhalation of mercury vapors (toxin) to target organs

1.1.3 Preliminary Removal Assessment/Removal Site Inspection Results - Preliminary testing conducted by private party (resident or consultant) indicated elevated concentrations of mercury in the indoor air at the residence.  Family history documented a problem with mercury.


2. Current Activities
  2.1 Operations Section
    2.1.1 Narrative - OSC Russell responded from another Site evaluation that he had been participating in near Tampa, FL.  Therefore, OSC Russell coordinated response mobilization with FDEP responder SOSC Holly Fortune, who had access to a Lumex mercury vapor analyzer. 

2.1.2 Response Actions to Date - OSC Russell gained access authorization from resident, calibrated the FDEP MVA, and proceeded to conduct the assessment of the home and garage.  OSC Russell conducted the entire assessment and identified NO indication of mercury vapors on the property.  OSC Russell then advised the resident regarding his findings and encouraged him to engage the County Health Department on subsequent health concerns.
