On April 16, 2015, Oregon Department of Environmental Quality requested EPA respond to a report by a homeowner of a small mercury spill to her driveway in Banks, Oregon. EPA and 3 START contractors arrived around 8:30 pm and, using the Lumex mercury vapor analyzer, determined that a small amount of mercury (about a teaspoon) had been dropped on to an aggregate concrete driveway. Beads of mercury were still visible. EPA made plans to return on 4/17/2015 to conduct a mercury removal action on the driveway.
