U.S. EPA OSC Steve Faryan and Weston Solutions Inc. (WSI) START personnel continue to commence oversight, while PRPs delineate subsurface contamination. PRPs drilled a total of eighty-five soil borings and collected a total of two hundred nighty-one samples. START personnel collected a total of thirty-two split samples for U.S. EPA. U.S. EPA OSC Steve Faryan and START personnel continue to attend meetings with PRP, PRP consultants and other government personnel. On 18 September 2002, meeting was held at the State Attorney Generals office, to discuss clean-up objectives for soil and groundwater. Representatives from each of the following parties were present: Attorney Generals office, IEPA, PRP, PRP consultants, WSI, IEPA consultants and Village of Lisle.
PRPs drilled sixty-six soil borings, using a truck mounted geoprobe rig. PRPs drilled five soil borings, using a rotosonic drill rig. A track mounted HSA/geoprobe rig was used for four locations inside the Lockformer facility. A hand cart geoprobe rig was used for ten locations inside the Lockformer facility.
