Work crews have also completed the transfer of the 3,700 PCB capacitors from the mezzanine of the furnace reheat building to ground surface.

Next Steps
1) Continue draining transformers,
2) Continue disposal of transformer oils,
3) Continue packaging capacitors,
4) Begin disposal of capacitors.

Key Issues
The environmental problems outlined in the site’s closure plan are beyond the scope of this removal action.  The On-Scene Coordinator has requested U.S. EPA’s Remedial Section determine whether DSC should be scored for the NPL.
